Intro to Homebrew Campaigns
You have got your feet wet as a DM, and you are now interested in building your own campaign for your players to enjoy. After doing some research and getting excited to get going with things, you are hit with the dreaded, creativity paralysis. The questions start pouring into your mind.
“Where do I start?”
“What story should I tell?”
“How do I make a realistic map?”
The questions keep coming and you quickly feel overwhelmed by the idea and feel discouraged.
Don’t Fret, we’re here to help guide you on this journey! It doesn’t have to feel so daunting and we hope this series of posts will help you feel much more confident to build a world and campaign for your players.
Over the next few weeks we will explore all kinds of concepts and thought experiments to help you create. This isn’t a guide to build a perfect world but more a way to give imagination assistance to bring what you already have out to share with the world, or at least your party.
Here is a list of some of the topics we will cover in this series:
- What motivates you
- World building
- Living world systems and how to weave stories together
- Improvisation techniques
We look forward to you joining us as we explore these topics and can’t wait to hear about all your ideas and creations that come from it.
